Roxy recently styled her table at home with My Hygge Home cork backed placemats and coasters, which looked amazing! This inspired me to touch base with Roxy again to gain some more personal, insightful information about the way she finds comfort at home and prepares her table for entertaining.
Let’s hear from Roxy:
How would you describe the interior style of your home? What is the colour scheme, vibe, furniture style, and look/feel you desire?
It’s minimal but still homely. We went for Blacks, Whites, Touches of Navy and Grey. We used a designer called Blainey North who was fabulous!
How do you add comfort and coziness to your home, what are your favourite snug pieces, so you are comfortable?
The fabrications that have been used throughout add to homeliness, as does the wainscoting and plush padded walls. We also have some amazing custom rugs which are super luxurious and really add to the warmth of the modern yet homely home!
How often do you set the table for meals and eat together as a family or with friends?
Weekly, its become something I started doing some time ago, there is nothing better than setting a gorgeous instagrammable table. It’s like an artwork that can be enjoyed by friends and family!
What do you think is the importance of gathering for meals, and what impact do you think it has on mental health, a sense of belonging?
I think during COVID-19 a lot was put into perspective for many people, and certainly for me from both a work and home perspective, there is a joy in being together with friends and family and slowing down to enjoy simple gatherings even be it for just a meal.
How do YOU feel when the table is set beautifully for you to eat?
Happy – I haven’t had the time to really enjoy sitting down as a family and enjoying the simplicity of a family meal having been working non-stop for the past 16 years so its been a wonderful opportunity to stop and smell the roses but also do something creative for myself and my family.
If you are entertaining guests, describe some ways that you style your dining table? E.g. what do you use for centrepieces, do you have a theme, how do you prefer to set the table and what are essential items you always layout?
I always do it the night before, I hate having to rush the day of having guests. There is always a colour palette and florals are carefully chosen to match the theme and food. I always ensure we have beautiful napkins and serving ware as well as Waterford crystal that is so luxurious. Recently I came across a brand of candles called Black Blaze which I have been styling into many of my table settings.
What do you most and least enjoy about being a celebrity?
I don’t think that I am one LOL – I am an entrepreneur. If anything I am grateful for any publicity that has come my way as its all enabled me to grow my own personal brand and my businesses.
Lastly, thank you so much for your contribution and time. What is your all-time favourite tableware design at My Hygge Home?
I love the blue and white (Hue Bliss) placemats and matching coasters, they work back incredibly well with my Hermes Blue dinner service and whilst not being able to travel it has those Italian Summer vibes!
Roxy is incredibly busy, but I love that she finds the time to share her thoughts and support for other businesses, like My Hygge Home. Thank you again Roxy Jacenko, click here to see the whole range at My Hygge Home.
